Prescott, Arizona, May 22, 2017 – Eagle Amateur Radio Club at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and Yavapai Amateur Radio Club invite everyone to Prescott Hamfest 2017 at Embry Riddle (ERAU) Prescott, AZ, on June 9 and 10, 2017. Everyone is invited to the largest amateur radio event in northern Arizona. Admission is Free on Friday afternoon, June 9th, and there will be seminars about “ham” radio and how to get licensed. There will be license testing available at 4:30. On Saturday, June 10th, there will be a tailgate swap meet in the morning starting at 7:00, commercial vendors all day, more seminars, a Get on the Air (GOTA) station where you can talk to the world, and more. At 9 AM, witness the launch of a high altitude research balloon by Arizona Near Space Research. Admission on Saturday is only $5.00 If you are a ham radio operator or just want to learn what it is all about, come to Embry-Riddle Friday afternoon, June 9, and all day Saturday, June 10, 2017. At hamfests amateur radio operators gather to refresh long-held radio friendships; to examine amateur radio gear in-person; to buy or sell equipment and parts; to exchange information; and compete in various technical and skill competition.
